Job Description:

This position is a temporary position with an indefinite term. It is expected that this assignment will last approximately 13 - 20 weeks. May be extended based on departmental needs.

TheRN working in the ED provides episodic and acute care to patients during anassigned shift using the nursing process which involves the assessment,analysis, nursing diagnosis, outcome identification, planning, implementationof interventions, and evaluation of human responses to perceived, actual orpotential, sudden or urgent, physical or psychosocial problems. The provisionof care in the ED may require minimal care to life-support measures; patient, family,and significant other education; appropriate referral and discharge planning; withinthe guidelines established by professional organizations, legal, regulatory,and accrediting bodies.

Qualifications:

Current and unrestricted licensure in the state of California
Current CPR Certification
Current ACLS Certification
Current PALS Certification
BSN in nursing preferred
Membership in the Emergency Room Nurses Association [ENA] preferred
Certification in emergency room nursing preferred
Completion of Trauma Nurse Core Course preferred

Level 1 ED RN: Minimum of 2-years' experience in nursing with completion of an ED certification course preferred.

OR

Level 2 ED RN: > 2 years' experience in emergency room nursing with certification in ER Nursing preferred.
