  • Employment Type: TravelHospital in Southern Arizona is looing for RNs to complete a 13 week assignment on their Med Surg/Tele Tower 2 unit. The right candidates will have 3+ years of experience and have an active BLS. To hear more about this assignment contact Medical Solutions at . START DATE: 10/21 Department: PCU Cardiac/Intermediate Care - A2 Radius Rule: 100 miles SUBMISSION PROFILE REQUIREMENTS - Must be in the profile or cannot move forward with submittal. --- Start Date - Must match the next available start date, include in attached profile/resume --- EPIC experience required. Ensure it is accurate (there have been inconsistencies on the resume versus the cover page) > EMR listed on each work assignment --- Time Off- Ensure dates make sense for the required start date and are 5 days or less. > Include within the attached profile/resume. All RTO needs to be in at time of submission. --- Resume- Ensure resume information is accurate (there's been an increase in inaccurate information sent). > MUST INCLUDE: detailed duties, hospital size, unit size, and trauma level (if applicable) for each hospital. > Explain any employment gaps upon submission and include in attached profile/resume. --- Certifications- Make sure certs are accurate and up to date. --- License- Active and in hand - AZ or Compact- Ensure it's accurate NURSE PATIENT RATIOS: DAYS - 1:4 NIGHTS - 1:5 Need PCU/Tele? Stepdown exp Unit PCU Cardiac/Intermediate Care - A2 # of Beds 36 Nurse: Patient Ratios 1:4-5 could have some mixed MS and PCU patients 1:5 for all MS patients Required certifications (i.e., BLS, ACLS?) BLS, ACLS, NIHSS Common diagnoses/Types of patients CHF, NSTEMI, MI, heart block, pacer, TAVR, CABG day 2, recovers cath pts after sheath is pulled, Watchman, bradycardia, VT, general PCU overflow: respiratory failure, low BPs, low hemoglobin, sepsis, post surgical, etc. Experience or 'Must have' skills Ok first time travelers Prefer experience with TAVR and CABG (core staff usually take) This unit has cardiac focus. Travelers must have experience with all drips below Are RNs required to titrate drips? Yes Common titratable &/or set rate drips amiodarone, cardizem, dobutamine, dopamine, heparin, start nitro, insulin Is there a Charge Nurse on each shift? Does the charge nurse take an assignment? Charge- free of assignment, try to avoid giving an assignment ( could take a couple patients on very rare occasion) Are there nurse aids/patient care techs on this unit? Ratios? Duties? PCA-8-12 per person, potentially less RT Equipment (Vents, Cpap, BiPap, High Flow, etc.) Are RNs required to do anything with these besides trouble shoot? bipap, hi flow, stable trach Are there tele/monitor techs on this unit? Are RNs required to read their own strips? What brand are the tele monitors? Tele on this unit, Travelers need to read tele, however there is a dedicated monitor tech as well Shifts & Scheduling (Do you allow self-scheduling? Block scheduling?) 6:45-7:15a, charge to make schedule to balance unit needs, will take travelers requests into consideration. Weekend Requirement 4 weekend days per month Days:Saturday, Sunday Nights Friday, Saturday, Sunday Holiday Requirement 3/5 holidays Is there Call or a Standby requirement? Low Census for full or partial day Floating Requirements ICU within patient population, and MS floors Scrub Color/Dress Code/Scrubs provided?
