Please connect with ASC for the profile submittal checklist/guide. - Radius Rule: Candidates must live 100 miles from the facility. - Traveler Experience: - No first-time travelers. - Must have experience in PCU, Stepdown, or Telemetry units. - Prefer experience with TAVR and CABG patients. Department Information - Unit: PCU Cardiac/Intermediate Care - A2 - Number of Beds: 36 - Unit Focus: Cardiac Intermediate Care Patient Population & Common Diagnoses - Primary Diagnoses: - CHF, NSTEMI, MI, heart block, bradycardia, VT - Post-procedural care (e.g., Pacer, TAVR, CABG Day 2, Watchman) - Post-cardiac cath recovery (after sheath removal) - PCU overflow: Respiratory failure, low BP, low hemoglobin, sepsis, post-surgical Nurse Staffing & Ratios - Day Shift Ratio: 1:4 - Night Shift Ratio: 1:5 - Mixed Assignments: May include both PCU and Med-Surg patients - Med-Surg Only Ratio: 1:5 - Charge Nurse: Generally non-assigned, may take patients only on rare occasions Support Staff - Patient Care Assistants (PCA): - Assigned 8–12 patients each, occasionally fewer - Monitor Techs: - Dedicated tele tech on staff - RNs must be able to read strips independently - Respiratory Therapy Equipment: - Includes BiPAP, High-Flow, and stable trach patients - RNs required to troubleshoot, not manage equipment fully Certifications Required - Mandatory: BLS, ACLS, NIHSS - Must Be Current at Time of Submission Medication Management - RN Responsibilities: Drip titration required - Common Drips: - Amiodarone, Cardizem, Dobutamine, Dopamine - Heparin, Nitro (initiation), Insulin Scheduling & Shift Details - Shift Times: 6:45 AM – 7:15 PM / 6:45 PM – 7:15 AM - Scheduling: - Schedule managed by Charge Nurse - Traveler requests considered, but not guaranteed - Self-scheduling not offered - Weekend Requirement: Minimum 4 weekend shifts/month - Days: Saturday & Sunday - Nights: Friday, Saturday & Sunday - Holiday Requirement: Must be available for 3 of 5 major holidays - Low Census/Call: Possible for full or partial days - Floating: - May float to ICU (within skillset/patient population) and Med-Surg units Other Information - Scrub Color: Navy Blue - Scrubs Provided: Not provided - Orientation: - 1 day New Employee Orientation (NEO) - 1 day with Clinical Educator - 1 day on the unit with floor staffT4H259 About Talent4Health A leader and innovator, offering comprehensive talent solutions for the healthcare industry across the nation.
