Job Description:
TravelNurseSource is working with Cynet Health to find a
qualified Labor/Delivery RN in Yuma, Arizona, 85364! Pay
Information $2,758 per week About The Position Job Title:
Registered Nurse Profession: Nursing Specialty: Labor and Delivery
Duration: 13 weeks Shift: 12H Nights Hours per Shift: 12
Experience: Minimum 2 years License: Required Certifications: BLS,
NRP, AWHONN - Intermediate or Advanced Must-Have: Ability to
perform vaginal exams, circulate a C-section, assist
anesthesiology, IV starts, and blood draws. Description: Unit has 9
labor and delivery beds and 2 operating rooms for C-sections. There
are 7 triage beds available. The average number of births per day
is 9, totaling 250 a month and 3000 per year. The unit strives to
follow AWHONN guidelines with a typical nurse-to-patient ratio of
1:1 or 1:2. There is a high incidence of hypertension among
patients, with 7-10% of individuals having no prenatal care.
Spanish-speaking skills are preferred due to a high percentage of
Spanish-speaking patients. Nurses must understand scalp electrodes
and newborn transitions. Knowledge of APGAR assignments and
postpartum hemorrhage control is required. Experience with
titrating magnesium, pitocin, insulin, and blood is essential.
There is a Charge Nurse on each shift, along with OB Techs
available in the unit. An OB/Neonatologist is in-house 24/7 for
support. The unit utilizes telemetry monitoring but is not required
for OB nurses to interpret. The EFM system in use is CPN
centricity. Nurses must be available for weekend shifts,
specifically 3 weekend shifts in a 4-week schedule. Holiday
participation is expected, typically 2 out of 3 holidays will be
assigned. Low Census On Call is required. Nurses may float to NICU,
Peds, Women’s, MedSurg, or ICU as appropriate. Nurses will be
expected to care for the baby for 2 hours after delivery, and may
take care of antepartum patients. Scrubs are provided by the
hospital. Orientation includes one NEO session, one clinical
education/EPIC session, and one day on the floor. The charting
system utilized is EPIC. A BSN is not required for this position.
