TravelNurseSource is working with Cynet Health to find a qualified Med/Surg RN in Yuma, Arizona, 85364! Pay Information $2,398 per week About The Position Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: RN Specialty: Medical Surgical/Tele-Ortho Duration: 13 weeks Shift: 12H Nights Hours per Shift: 12 Experience: 2 years License: Required Certifications: BLS Must-Have: ACLS preferred Description: START DATE IS NOT FLEXIBLE. Nurse patient ratios: Days 1:5-6, Nights 1:6. Number of beds: 36. Required certifications include BLS. ACLS is preferred. Experience with orthopedic cases, abdominal pain, COPD, overdose, alcohol withdrawal, weakness, psychiatric issues, and surgical patients is necessary. Occasional exposure to chest tubes, tracheostomies, and peritoneal dialysis patients may occur. RNs are not required to titrate drips but may encounter heparin occasionally. A Charge Nurse is present on each shift unless patient census requires them to take on patients. Patient care assistants are available on this unit at a ratio of 1:8-12. Bipap and stable tracheostomy care are handled, but changes to settings are not allowed. Post-surgical tracheostomy patients require care including suctioning and trach care. Experience with drains such as JP and wound vacs is beneficial; wound care RNs are available for support. Ostomy care knowledge is also necessary. Tele-monitoring is available; a dedicated monitor technician assists with readings, but RNs must identify significant anomalies and alert the care team as needed. Shift hours are from 18:45 to 07:15. Weekend requirement is every other weekend. Holiday requirement is typically 2 out of 3 holidays. Floating to Med Surg and ICU for stable patients may be required. Scrub color is navy blue. There will be one orientation session and one clinical education/EPIC training day, followed by one day on the floor. Cancellation policy allows for hours equivalent to the weekly guaranteed hours for the assignment. Charting system used is EPIC. A Bachelor of Science in Nursing degree is not required. Trauma Level: 2. Care setting is acute. Division: Nursing.
