- Duties HelpDuties Summary Marine Corps Community Services (MCCS) is looking for the best and brightest to join our Team! MCCS is a comprehensive program that supports and enhances the quality of life for Marines, their families, and others in the Marine Corps Community. Learn more about this agency Responsibilities Responsible for maintaining an accurate inventory of supplies. Verifies incoming supplies against the invoice for accuracy of quantity, serviceability and correctness of item. Ensures that all items are identified with a stock number, prior to placing on the shelf. Issues supplies to customers, by preparing a Requisition and Issue Form (R & I;). Maintains a computer database of supplies. Manages the database through computer exception reports and determines form a list of transactions, the correct transaction to induct to maintain the records accurately. Revises requirement quantities based on number of items on hand and established allowances. Identifies and address discrepancies. Reviews supporting documents and reference material to determine what special supply action is required. Determines status of action on requirements and changes requirements and unexpected requirements. Identifies items based on data resident in current publications and databases. Reviews and edits supply transactions. Processes adjustment documents and reconciles documented discrepancies with computer exception listings. Provides customer service and expedites process of urgent items or other items requiring special handling when established procedures are not applicable. Reviews files and other reference sources and removes duplicate items. Coordinates the preparation of all paperwork associated with the annual inventory of prepaid supplies and assist in conducting the inventory. Conducts research to resolve discrepant quantities identifies during inventory and processes adjustment transactions to reconcile the inventory. Conducts spot inventories throughout the year. Provides World Class Customer Service with an emphasis on courtesy. Assists customers and communicates positively in a friendly manner. Acknowledges customers, smiles and makes eye contact. Asks questions to determine, verify and solve problems. Checks for satisfaction on the quality of goods and services. Takes action to solve problems quickly. Alerts the higher level supervisor, or proper point of contact for help when problems arise. Adheres to safety regulations and standards. Uses required safety equipment, and observes safe work procedures. Promptly reports any observed workplace hazards, and any injury, occupational illness, and/or property damage resulting from workplace mishaps to the immediate supervisor. Adheres to established standards of actively supporting the principles of the EEO program and prevention of sexual harassment. Performs other related duties as assigned. Must have the ability to conduct a detailed extensive search for desired information in supporting records, publications, or files such as computer listings, technical orders, stock catalogs, previous history files, etc. Must have seasoned judgment in adapting guidelines and in making decisions where there are alternative courses of action within standardized procedures and requirements. This is a white-collar position where occasional lifting up to 20 lbs may be required.
