Job Description:

Shift: 12 Experience: Minimum 2 years of experience in Emergency
Room License: Valid nursing license required Certifications: BLS,
ACLS, PALS, NIHSS; TNCC preferred Must-Have: Must have at least two
years of Emergency Room experience. Must have experience with
trauma Level I and II within the last three years. If only level
III or lower experience, cannot be considered. Gunshot wound and
stabbing experience required. Description: Start dates are not
flexible. Epic EMR proficiency required. No 48-hour guarantees. No
blocked scheduling requests. No more than five days of request time
off. The unit has a total of 52 beds and four trauma bays. There
are six fast-track beds available. A quick look area is provided
with two separate areas. Emergency Room holds are intermixed within
the department. There are no seclusion rooms available. In-house
security is present 24/7. On average, two hundred patients are
treated in the Emergency Room per day. Nurse-patient ratios are 1:5
for medical and 1:6 for fast track. Common diagnoses include
various emergency needs. Common drips in use include ICU drips for
hold patients. Registered Nurses must read their own telemetry but
also have a monitor tech available. There is a dedicated CT and
X-ray in the Emergency Room. ED techs can perform lab draws, along
with Registered Nurses starting IVs. Weekends require four shifts
per four-week block. Holiday requirements typically involve two of
five holiday shifts. Floating may occur with a shared schedule.
Training includes one day of orientation and one day of clinical
using the system. The scrub color is navy blue. Cancellation policy
allows for cancellation of hours equivalent to guaranteed hours for
the assignment.
